💕Bring extra $$ to support local pop ups: Chaiwallah PDX & Jungle Candy Henna

🌹Chaiwallah PDX is a small batch desi pop-up run by Sarena. Her recipes have taken years to perfect because they taste like she remembers… created with the flavors she grew up with, away from, and returned to.

🌹Jungle Candy Henna. Born and raised in Portland to immigrant parents from Sri Lanka & India, Kavi started making art at a young age. She majored in painting for one year at PSU before dropping out to pursue tattooing. In order to get the funds for “tattoo school”, Kavi worked as a line cook for 5 years before finally enrolling and graduating with her tattoo license. Kavi now tattoos at Solitude Tattoo Collective on SE Woodstock and tattoos almost anything and everything but focuses on black and grey botanical and nature themes, South Asian iconology and ornamental. Find a full portfolio of Kavi’s work @junglecandytattoos

💕Performances by Blossom Drearie & Chiffon Valentine

🌹 Blossom Drearie is the transfemme Filipina drag goddess of Portland and host of the monthly queer party Blowpony.
🌹Chiffon Valentine was Ms. Gay Pride Portland 2015-2016

💕Co-hosted by PDX Queer Asian Social Meetup & Queer Desi Pdx @pdxqueerasiansocialmeetup @queerdesipdx

💕Global Bass, Dembow, Bollywood, Cumbia, Hiphop, Bhangra & Reggaeton Dance party with DJ Anjali and Daniela Karina

🌹Daniela Karina (she/they) finds inspiration in emerging diasporic sounds and peak after hours dance floors. They bring the fringes of global club culture to the Pacific Northwest with an emphasis on building an international community of genre-blenders and border-crossers. Daniela has shared the stage with the likes of DJ Lag, 8ULENTINA, Dengue Dengue Dengue!, Tayhana, and Branko. www.soundcloud.com/danielakarina

🌹Anjali is a DJ, Dancer and Artist. Her work is primarily concerned with pushing forward a working class, anti caste, immigrant feminist agenda on the dance floor through song, imagery and dance. Since her 2000 debut as a DJ and dance floor instigator, she has worked to promote the future and vintage sounds of the South Asian and Desi diaspora within the larger Global Bass movement. She moves between two styles of performance, from behind the decks as a DJ to the front of the stage as a Bhangra & Filmi dancer, all the while exploring her own identity and using the dance floor as a place to build solidarity. www.soundcloud.com/djanjali

    Hosted by: Armaan Singh

Accessibility: This venue is currently not ADA accessible. This is a mask required event. We ask that all attendees respect our mask policy to ensure safety for high-risk community members. We keep us safe.

Portland For Palestine is a comedy show and market fundraiser, a boycott effort, and a call to action!

We believe artists have the responsibility to build artistic spaces that aren’t merely distractions from our world, rather, are responsive to our global community in alignment with our collective liberation. We divest from the zioni$t networks that are prevalent in the comedy scene here, and resist by creating our own spaces.

    Who we are supporting:

All funds raised from ticket sales will support our dear friend Mohammed and his family. Mohammed and his siblings were all in the process of achieving higher education when the terrors of colonization and imperialism turned their world upside down. As we know, there are no universities left in Gaza. So this fundraiser will support Mohammed and his family to survive the life in Gaza, rebuild and hopefully resume their education. Our people need us, and this is our small effort in showing up for them.

All funds raised from the raffle will support local SWANA community members facing political imprisonment, legal action and suppression.

We are also collecting physical donations on behalf of the PDX Community Free Store to support our unhoused neighbors. In order to win a special raffle prize we request that attendees bring one of the many items on a needs list. PDX Community Free Store is a group that organizes distribution of harm reduction supplies, hygiene supplies, outside gear, clothing, beauty products, art and education materials and books twice a week for unhoused Portlanders. They also provide on-site hair cuts, massages, medical support and bike repair.

Read More About Mohammed & his family story here: https://gofund.me/34e7ad99

Learn more about PDX Community Free Store: https://www.instagram.com/communityfreestorepdx/

    What to expect:

We will have five comedians who we believe aren’t just Portland’s funniest, but also radical individuals who care about community care and collective Liberation. Prior to the comedy show we will have local vendors selling art + food, and a cute raffle to maximize fundraising potential. The market portion of the event will run from 6:30pm to 7:30pm and the comedy show will take place directly after. The event will likely come to a close around 10pm. There will be food vendors that you may purchase food from. We will have water available for free.

Note: Please reach out to the organizer if you have any accessibility needs for the event! We will do our absolute best to accommodate you, and if we are unable to accommodate you may request a refund.

Grab your friends and family, and head over to Bridgespace for an evening filled with laughter, community, and a chance to support families in Gaza and our local community.

    Free Palestine!
